Vintage crystal glasses: A tableware coveted

Estimated between 500 and 600 euros, this lot consists of two pitchers, twelve water glasses, twelve white wine glasses, red wine glasses twelve and twelve champagne glasses, has been sold without difficulty. A very good deal for the buyer as the beauty of the pieces is exceptional.

DRINK IN CRYSTAL, IDEA ENGLISH
Far from the stereotype, crystal glass was not created in Bohemia and France, but in England in 1676 by a man named George Ravenscroft, itself an importer of Venetian glass. Eager to Dethrone the Italians their monopoly as manufacturers crystallographic (glass prized for its clear comparison), it is making containers whose brightness and transparency are so innovative. It is through the addition of lead oxide in the glass paste and the incorporation of a very pure silica these new lenses have a light transmission and comparable to that of rock crystal sparkle. The sought-after models have features that allow collectors to authenticate their origin and the lead content in the reflectivity of light. Generally, one etched on the bottom of each piece has a circle logo, number or the name of the crystal.

Some collectors crystal glasses are also wine lovers. But most crystal glasses ignore recommended for tasting fine wines (foot height, neck opening, and a thin and transparent comparison aesthetic constraints, no frills, and highlighting the dress and the perception of aromas nectar). they are the kind you will see all over Europe in cafes.
The smallest ones are generally used as espresso or shot glasses.
I could swear that I have seen them used as egg holders, too, but it may just be my crazy imagination.
Red and white wine could (conceivably) be served from juice glasses (I have a distinct memory of my dad drinking from a small 7-8 oz glass wine at home, but not when guests would come over).
I like your idea for Pint glasses, but can not conceive what we would drink scotch from...darnit
