Red wine may help ward off cancer? According to the findings from a study conducted by researchers at Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA), it seems that the molecules contained in red wine would actually be effective in the fight against cancer, thanks to the presence in it of a substance known as resveratrol, present in the grape skins of red grapes. Just this substance in fact exert an action on SIRT1, which is a protein that belongs to the family of sirtuins and counter the classic problems that occur with aging and various diseases.

So drink enough red wine to ward off old age , and diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease and type 2 diabetes? Not exactly. As explained by the same author of the study, David Sinclair, red wine actually contains in fact only a few milligrams of this substance.

The amount contained in it would be even much lower than that with which the mice were fed during the study, and from what follows that this molecule could be effective only if every day were to introduce into the body a quantity present in well 100 glasses of red wine.

"We should drink large amounts of red wine - in fact would explain the scholar at Harvard Medical School in Boston - that probably would kill you first." We just have to wait about five years as Sinclair says the same, so that we can create synthetic drugs with a power 100 times greater.
